If your family is anything like ours, then having and using a 'slow cooker' provides for a warm healthy meal even with a busy schedule like ours. We have 5 very active children and we are on the go constantly.

After a long day of soccer, field hockey, football, swimming, school and ballet...You get the idea, a warm healthy dinner will be ready and waiting when we get home. Thanks to our 'slow cooker'.

'SLOW COOKER'---MOST HELPFUL KITCHEN APPLIANCE---'CROCK POT'

In the 1950's the Naxon Utilities Corporation of Chicago, Illinois, U.S.A. developed their version of a bean cooker and named it the Beanery.

This very primitive electric ‘Slow Cooker’ was a self contained unit and the precursor of modern day ‘Slow Cooker’ ( ‘Crock Pot’ ).

In 1970 the Rival Company bought the assets of the Naxon Utilities Corporation as well as the rights to the Beanery. The Rival Company began refining the Beanery soon after acquisition and in 1971 introduced the first Rival ‘ Crock Pot ‘ ( ‘Slow Cooker’ ).

The stoneware liner in the original Rival ‘Crock Pot’ was not removable. In 1974 Rival redesigned the electric appliance with a removable liner for easy cleaning.

In 2001 the programmable ‘Slow Cookers’ ( ‘Crock Pots’ ) were introduced.

MORE IMPROVEMENTS TO THE 'SLOW COOKER'

John Ulam, an accomplished metallurgist, discovered that cladding dissimilar metals in the proper formulations delivered properties that no individual metal could achieve.

After forming an alliance with Alcoa in 1967, he began to adopt his bonding technology to cookware products.

The various combinations of clad metals proved to be ideal for cookware applications, and resulted in performance that greatly exceeded that of non-bonded cookware.

ALL-CLAD METALCRAFTERS ESTABLISHED

Many years of perfecting his bonding process, John Ulam established the All-Clad Metalcrafters in 1971, and began producing professional quality bonded cookware.

The All-Clad brand slowly emerged as early adopters in the professional community realized the extraordinary qualities of this revolutionary bonded cookware.

From it's rolling mill in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, 15317, the All-Clad Metalcrafters is the only bonded cookware manufacturer who utilizes American Craftsmen and American Made Metals to produce a complete line of finished bonded cookware products.
